About This Event
This 2.5 x 2 = 5 mile hike in Corral Canyon Park encompasses the last undeveloped coastal canyon in Los Angeles County that flows freely to the ocean. The 2.5 mile loop trail climbs through pristine wilderness to the Puerco Canyon watershed divide and provides spectacular ocean and mountain views. It then descends onto an ancient marine terrace with native bunch grasses. We will reverse directions and do the loop again in the opposite direction. There is a 500' elevation gain each way.
This is a good hike for beginners who may want to do only 2.5 miles
The Corral Canyon Trailhead is located on Pacific Coast Highway between Malibu Canyon Road and Kanan Dume Road in the City of Malibu. The Trailhead is on the north side of Pacific Coast Highway adjacent to Malibu Seafood Fresh Fish Market and Patio Cafe where we can have lunch
Parking in the Corral Canyon Park lot is $3.00. There some free parking on PCH
Bring the usual hiking stuff plus some money for lunch. The restaraunt allows you to bring your own beverages, including wine and beer.
