About This Event
Typically the Towsley canyon hike is a moderate-to-strenuous 6-mile hike through an astonishing variety of habitat types. On this visit we will explore some of the less traveled side trails we have sighted on previous trips. If your goal is to get back to the car as soon as possible this hike is not for you.
Highlights include Towsley Creek, and spectacular water-worn rock formations in Towsley Gorge, as well as scenic trail viewpoints and oak woodland, oils ponds with bubbling sulphur.
Directions: Take the Calgrove exit from the Golden State Freeway (Interstate 5). Turn west back under the freeway and take The Old Road south for about 100 yards, turn right into gate. Park in first lot on right (after the gate!).
There is a printable trail map in the Files section
