About This Event
Everyone knows that the stately oak woodlands, native grasslands, and mixed chaparral communities of upper Topanga Canyon provides excellent wildlife habitat and serve as a key link in the east-west wildlife corridor. What many don't realize is that the the wildlife referred to here is The Weekday Hikers!
The hike will include a small loop in Summit Valley, encompassing the headwaters of Topanga Creek, and a trek along the Summit to Summit trail. That's about 8 miles with only a few hundred feet elevation gain. I haven't done this entire hike yet so that's an estimate based on my topo maps. We'll kick it up a notch by exploring some side trails.
The trailhead is equipped with fee-parking, restrooms and picnic benches. Last time I was there the parking fee was $3.00, but be prepared to pay more (bring exact change)
After the hike we will meet at Pat's Topanga Grill for lunch
