About This Event
Sky still looks ok out here. Hike is cancelled as an official meetup. However many of us will still be meeting at the scheduled time and location to do the hike. Everyone who thinks that this would normally be an easy/moderate hike is welcome to join us. Call me with any questions - 818.693.2054
The loop is a moderate four mile round trip, with a net elevation gain/loss of about 400 ft. Maybe we'll add about a mile to that with a couple of side trips. First stop is Lizard Rock by way of Mesa Trail and Stagecoach Bluff Trail, then down (past the water treatment plant) to the stream. We continue upstream past Skunk Hollow and Sycamore Flats to a 70' waterfall. Steps lead down to the pool beneath Paradise Falls, and to a picnic table in the shade of an oak tree. Continuing upstream, there is a tranquil picnic area at another water fall, Little Falls. We return by way of Indian Creek Trail.
Fit beginners should do OK.
How to get there:
From 101 in the Valley exit Lynn Rd. Proceed north on Lynn Rd to Avenida de Los Arboles and make a left. drive to west end of Avenida de Los Arboles. Park in the lot at Arboles & Big Sky.
From the 118 take the 23 Freeway to Avenida de Los Arboles , drive to west end of Avenida de Los Arboles. Park in the lot at Arboles & Big Sky.
Bring hiking shoes, water, snacks, camera.
