About This Event
This 6.5 mile hike begins at the Backbone Trailhead on Malibu Canyon and proceeds along the southern rim of Malibu Creek State Park. After about 3 miles we reach Puerco Canyon and Mesa Peak then turn around. Highlights include ocean views. Elevation gain is about 1400'
Bring food, water, camera.
Trailhead parking is on west side of Malibu Canyon/Las Virgenes a few yards south of Piuma Rd
From the 101 Get off at the Las Virgenes and go south approximately 5 miles to the trailhead parking lot just past Piuma Rd. Turn right into parking lot. (Las Virgenes Rd becomes Malibu Canyon Rd at Piuma)
From PCH Take Malibu Cyn Rd north around 4.5 miles and just before Piuma light turn left into parking lot
Parking at trailhead lot is $5.00 exact change. There is free parking on the dirt lot at the southeast corner of Piuma Rd and Las Virgenes. Be carefull crossing the road.
