DESCRIPTION:Join our Meetup group as we tackle the 2022 Coffeeneuring Challenge! Don't drink coffee? Got you covered with tea\, hot chocolate\, cider\, coffee stout\, etc.! We will sponsor a qualifying coffeeneuring ride each Sunday until November 20 and try to get as many members as possible to complete the challenge.\\n\\n\\n\\nEach ride will have a distinct qualifying destination cafe or beverage store at which we will stop to enjoy our preferred beverage (I am a tea person but flexible) and get the required Challenge documentation. These will be independent shops (no Starbucks!) with good reviews.\\n\\n\\n\\nOur destination for today’s ride is the iconic LA Mill Coffee\, which put Silver Lake on the hip LA map years ago. Its only other locations are in Anaheim and LAX. It has an excellent bakery and simple but tasty savory dishes as well. The route is a truncated version of our kickoff ride in October that loops through both sides of Silver Lake (which isn't "silver" anymore -- anyone know why?) and totals just under 25 miles.\\n\\n\\n\\n*Coffeeneuring is what randonneurs do when they are not doing randonneuring (unsupported long-distance cycling). While randonneuring has a century+ history of epic riding in Europe\, with the USA joining in 1997\, coffeneuring was invented in the USA only 12 years ago by Randonneurs USA (RUSA) member Mary Gersema as an enjoyable\, tongue-in-cheek variant for social riders like us.\\n\\n\\n\\nForecast\\n\\n\\n\\nDetailed cue sheets will be provided. The ride will be pre-ridden during the prior week to check on road conditions. Thus\, updates may occur at the last minute.\\n\\n\\n\\nRoute: ridewithgps route: Draft 10/30\\n\\n\\n\\nCue Sheet: Draft 10/30\\n\\n\\n\\nRequirements:\\n\\n\\n\\nHelmets are mandatory. Make sure your bike is in good operating condition and bring at least one spare inner tube.\\n\\n\\n\\nThis is a self supported ride – there is no SAG. In case of a major mechanical breakdown\, plan on calling an Uber or phone a friend.\\nBring sufficient liquids/hydration and snacks/energy bar/gels… etc for the ride length and temperature.\\n\\n\\n\\nEbike? - OK if it is Class 1 or 3 and you keep a pace consistent with the group.\\n\\n\\n\\nGuests? - OK - Bring them along or better yet have them sign up.\\n\\n\\n\\nParking - There is paid parking in the Culver Steps parking structure. Some Culver City parking meters are free on Sunday and there is parking along Media Park if you arrive early. There are also some free parking spots along Venice Blvd.\\n\\n\\n\\nRestrooms - There are clean restrooms available at the Culver Steps meeting area.\\n\\n\\n\\nWaiver:\\n\\n\\n\\nSign up to this event constitute participant's agreement to release all liability against organizers/host/sponsors of this event.
