DESCRIPTION:If you are looking for the “Easy” Newcomer Ride\, then you are a week late! Starting in July 2022 we will host the “Easy” and “Regular” Rides on different weekends. In addition\, the “Regular” rides are west-side-based during the hotter summer months. ‘\\n\\n\\n\\nAt just under 35 miles and over 2000 ft of climbing\, this route nonetheless covers new ground for this Meetup Group. Most of the climbing is in the first 10 miles\, with a recreational pace through Benedict Canyon to Mulholland Drive\, with canyon and city views and one or two regroups. Once at Mulholland\, we head east along the ridge\, with valley and city views all the way to the Pacific\, Griffith Park and the Observatory\, then descending to the Cahuenga Pass.\\n\\n\\n\\nA final\, challenging climb up Wonder View provides a panorama of the Hollywood Reservoir (aka Lake Hollywood) where we check out the current water level. A careful descent to the lake edge and regroup gives us both a photo op and water stop. Continuing around the lake edge and down into Hollywood\, the route returns to Culver City through residential West Hollywood and Beverly Hills. Just before the end\, the route makes an (optional) visit to the Hayden Industrial Tract in Culver City\, where abandoned industrial buildings received a new life by adding modern architectural features.\\n\\n\\n\\nIf you have seen the Hayden Tract before you may return directly to the start for ice cream at Coolhaus or Salt &amp\; Straw. Otherwise\, take a gander at provocative buildings such as the “Beehive\,’ the “Samitaur Tower\,” the “Waffle Building (Vespertine)\,” the “Destroyer\,” and “What Wall?”\\nhttps://images.app.goo.gl/Sa2mYu57pPi5i9pz6\\n\\n\\n\\nDetailed cue sheets will be provided. The ride will be pre-ridden during the prior week to check on road conditions. Thus\, updates may occur at the last minute.\\n\\n\\n\\nridewithgps route: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/40020686\\n\\n\\n\\nCue Sheet: Click here for printable sheet\\n\\n\\n\\nRequirements:\\n\\n\\n\\nHelmets are mandatory. In case of a major mechanical breakdown\, plan on calling an Uber or phone a friend.\\nBring sufficient liquids/hydration and snacks/energy bar/gels…etc for the ride length and temperature.\\n\\n\\n\\nEbike? - OK if it is Class 1 or 3 and you keep a pace consistent with the group.\\n\\n\\n\\nGuests? - OK - Bring them along or better yet have them sign up.\\n\\n\\n\\nWaiver:\\n\\n\\n\\nWaiver: http://www.bfk.com/wheelmen/wheelmenwaiver.pdf\\n\\n\\n\\nSign up to this event constitute participant's agreement to release all liability against organizers/host/sponsors of this event.
