DESCRIPTION:Ride the LA River from Downtown Los Angeles. This follows the newly renovated LA River Bike Path that shields cyclists from vehicular traffic but exposes the beauty and wildlife of the restored Los Angeles River.\\n\\n\\n\\nWe expect to have a large number of cyclist with a wide range of fitness levels and you can join the group where you feel most comfortable or ride at your own pace. This ride qualifies for the Los Angeles Firecracker 20 mile virtual ride.\\n\\n\\n\\nThe 20 mile leaves from Los Angeles State Historical Park\, enters the LA River Bike Trail\, ends at Griffith Park and returns back on the Bike Trail.\\n\\n\\n\\nThis is a self supported ride. You need to carry sufficient drinks and snacks for the entire ride. Make sure your bike is in good working condition. In the event of a serious mechanical breakdown be prepared to phone a friend or Uber.\\n\\n\\n\\nThere is no escort\, SAG or Rest Stop support.\\n\\n\\n\\nPlease familiarize yourself with the route as there will not be any directional signage on the course. Download the cue sheet\, map\, navigational files to your GPS\, ridewithgps app or whatever devices and/or method that you are comfortable with. https://ridewithgps.com/routes/38436983\\nThe interactive map also shows locations for restrooms and drinking fountains.\\n\\n\\n\\nThere will be different rides sharing portions of this ride. Be sure to follow your specific route map.\\n\\n\\n\\nHelmets are mandatory and bring a spare innertube in case of flats.\\n\\n\\n\\nRide Time\\n\\n\\n\\nThere is no formal set start or end time. Most riders will start around 8:30am and finish at their own pace.\\n\\n\\n\\nRest Stops / Restrooms\\n\\n\\n\\nRestrooms inside the Los Angeles State Park (Opens at 8:00 am). Rest rooms along the bike trail and inside Griffith Park\\n\\n\\n\\nEbike? - OK if Class 1 or 3\\n\\n\\n\\nGuests? - OK - Bring them along or better yet have them sign up.\\n\\n\\n\\nParking: Paid parking inside park. Free parking on adjacent streets across from the park. Some areas have a 2 hour limit.
