DESCRIPTION:On this serendipitous hike we will rediscover some old trails I haven't used in a few years -- and others haven't used in about 10 years -- as we blaze a path around an ongoing housing development.\\n\\n\\n\\nLight bushwhacking may be required. We'll also be doing some creeking putting our poison oak avoidance skills to the test. See https://amzn.to/40OVuuv\\n\\n\\n\\nDue to the nature of this hike I cannot be precise on the stats. It will be about 6-8 miles with about 1\,000 feet total ascent. I am rating it DIFFICULT due to terrain. See the HWD Hike Rating Guide. Wear long pants.\\n\\n\\n\\nDIRECTIONS\\nPark in the dirt lot on the corner of Poema Pl and Topanga Cyn Bl. Enter lot from Poema.\\n\\n\\n\\nTrail statistics are approximate. For safety purposes always assume they are underestimated. But don’t be disappointed if they are overestimated.\\nBring more water and snacks than you think you’ll need.\\n\\n\\n\\nTrail descriptions are based on previous hikes. Current conditions are unknown until arrival. Expect the unexpected and plan accordingly.\\nThe Organizers and members of Hiking With Dean are not professional leaders\, guides\, or mountaineers.\\n\\n\\n\\nThe function of the member or organizer is only to organize the trip. Each person who shows up for a trip/meetup (and their guest or guests) is responsible for his or her own safety. By attending a hike\, or any other event organized by this group\, you are acknowledging that you and any guests that you bring are aware of the risks\, dangers and hazards associated with the activity and freely accept and fully assume all such risks\, dangers and hazards\, and further agree to release and discharge the Organizers\, Members of the Hiking With Dean Meetup Group from and against any and all liability arising from your participation in the group activities per our ASSUMPTION OF RISK AND LIABILITY WAIVER and Section 6.2 of the Meetup.com Terms of Service.
