DESCRIPTION:The Summer Solstice falls on June 20th at 1:50pm...And what better way to start the summer with a short hike and lunch at Malibu Seafood -- HWD's favorite post-hike lunch venue?\\n\\n\\n\\nVideo: https://youtu.be/NJP-m1tCXxM?si=uSPgQmYCYb2QG54C (https://youtu.be/NJP-m1tCXxM?si=uSPgQmYCYb2QG54C) with celebrity spottings\\n\\n\\n\\nOur hike will begin at sea level next to Malibu Seafood in Corral Canyon\, the last undeveloped coastal canyon in Los Angeles County that flows freely to the ocean. After a while and an easy creek crossing\, We leave Corral Canyon for my hiking through pristine wilderness along the Puerco Canyon watershed divide that provides spectacular ocean and mountain views.\\n\\n\\n\\nWe’ll return to the restaurant via another trail making a loop. Along the way we’ll have fun checking out the artifacts from a bygone era…and some mysterious buildings…\\n\\n\\n\\n🦞🍷After the hike we'll have lunch next door at Malibu Seafood Patio &amp\; Kitchen. Maybe we'll spot some dolphins frolicking in the waves\, or some celebrities.\\n\\n\\n\\n🍾They let you bring your own beverages including booze. So pack a cooler with your favorite beverage and enjoy a fresh seafood lunch by the ocean and trailhead -- you will deserve it! I'll bring some white wine.\\n\\n\\n\\nHike is about 5.5 miles with about 1\,100 ft of total ascent and rated MEDIUM due to terrain. Clothing optional.\\n\\n\\n\\nDIRECTIONSDrive to Malibu Seafood at 25653 Pacific Coast Hwy and park on PCH or pay $12.00(?) at Sara Wan trailhead parking lot. Iron ranger accepts credit cards\\n\\n\\n\\nTrail statistics are approximate. For safety purposes always assume they are underestimated. But don’t be disappointed if they are overestimated. Bring more water and snacks than you think you’ll need.\\n\\n\\n\\nTrail descriptions are based on previous hikes. Current conditions are unknown until arrival. Expect the unexpected and plan accordingly.\\n\\n\\n\\nThe Organizers and members in this group are not professional leaders\, guides\, or mountaineers.
