I will combine a 6-mile hike with the stairs taking in Rustic and Sullivan Canyons by way of little known trails. Along the way we'll visit Murphy Ranch\, a 1930s hideout where\, according to urban legend\, Third Reich sympathizers could sequester themselves until German rule had been established in the USA. My research indicates the legend it FALSE\\n\\n\\n\\nAlong the way we will answer the riddle:\\n\\n\\n\\nWhat does the inventor of the photobooth\, The Beach Boys\, a bunch of WWII-era NAZIs and Charlie Manson have in common?\\n\\n\\n\\nDIRECTIONS\\n\\n\\n\\nFrom Sunset Boulevard\, 3 miles west of the 405\, turn north at the light onto Capri Drive (there is a shorter way by turning onto San Remo Dr to Monaco Dr\, but its easy to miss). After 1/3 mile continue through the traffic circle\, remaining on Capri Drive for another 1/3 mile until it comes to an end at Casale Road. Sullivan Ridge Fire road begins to the left but do not turn left on Casale Rd. Find street parking to the right or on adjacent roads. We'll meet on the corner of Casale and Capri\\n\\n\\n\\nYou will be parking in a residential neighborhood with parking restrictions — pay attention to signs.\\n\\n\\n\\nThe Organizers and members of Hiking With Dean are not professional leaders\, guides\, or mountaineers.
