DESCRIPTION:You must be a member of the VIP Club to attend this event. Not a member? Join here: https://www.hikingwithdean.com\\n\\n\\n\\nI get a lot of questions on the trail from GPS owners about GPS usage\, but its difficult to give tutorials without stopping the entire group. There is more to these devices than orienteering and I don’t think the orienteering outings I have seen are adequate.\\n\\n\\n\\nSo I have come up with a hike\, combined with a class\, allowing us to stop and figure things out while on the move. The first part will consist of learning gps-speak and configuring your gps for a hike. During the 2nd part we will be using what we learned in first part during a hike.\\n\\n\\n\\nWe will have internet access\, picnic benches (as desks) and a bathroom at the trailhead\\n\\n\\n\\nHere are the complete class and hike details: https://www.hikingwithdean.com/event/vip-event-gps-class/. Note in description there is some preparation required.\\n\\n\\n\\nIf you don’t have a gps and just want to check them out in action before purchasing that’s ok too.\\n\\n\\n\\nIf you are shopping for a gps these are my expert recommendations. Clicking on the link will send you to description on Amazon:\\n\\n\\n\\nGarmin Etrex 10 - https://amzn.to/2EAUYFh\\nGarmin Etrex Touch 35 - https://amzn.to/2S6xAHH\\nGarmin Oregon 700 - https://amzn.to/2B1omD1\\nGarmin Montana 680 - https://amzn.to/2VQJlzJ\\n\\n\\n\\nTo keep class-size low\, class/hike will be limited to VIP Club members only. If you see yourself being removed from event\, that is the reason. See https://www.hikingwithdean.com/hwd-vip-club/ for details
