DESCRIPTION:Our evening begins at the Split Rock trail where we will climb to meet up with the Temescal Ridge trail. We'll traverse Temescal Ridge and head over to Temescal Lookout staying off the fireroad as much as we can. We'll find some comfy spots among the ruins of an old ranger station/fire lookout.\\n\\n\\n\\nOur destination awaits!\\n\\n\\n\\nhttps://secure.meetupstatic.com/photos/event/3/0/d/f/highres_442512511.jpeg\\n\\n\\n\\nHike is an easy-to-moderate 4 miles with about 500 feet elevation gain. Bring snacks and booze to share\\n\\n\\n\\nNo flashlights or white lights. Green or red headlamps ok\\n\\n\\n\\nSunset: 8:00 PM\\n\\n\\n\\nDirections:\\n\\n\\n\\nFrom Sunset Boulevard\, half a mile east of PCH\, head north on Palisades Drive. After 3.3 miles\, continue straight on Chastain Parkway for another half a mile. Turn right on Via Las Palmas\, and drive two short blocks past Via La Costa and up the service road to the public trailhead parking on the left. There are restrooms at the trailhead\\n\\n\\n\\nNote: Although the parking lot gate remained open all night last time we were there\, I don't know the official rules regarding closure (if there are any)
