DESCRIPTION:Smugglers cove hike/ leaders option\\n\\n\\n\\nThis trip we will start with a boat trip at 8:00 AM via Island Packers from Ventura to Santa Cruz Island. At Scorpion Harbor will exit using the new pier and gather up. The hike will be 8-10 miles with around 1\,500 feet of climbing. There are a number of choices depending on conditions. We will do Smugglers cove if the weather is bad and go up to the top of the island if the weather is clear.\\n\\n\\n\\nThe trails on the island can be pretty rocky so I encourage sturdy boots\, poles and long pants for the brushy areas. We may take a trail that can be pretty deep in tall grass.\\n\\n\\n\\nAfter the hike the group will head back to Scorpion Harbor to catch the 4:30 ferry home.\\n\\n\\n\\nThe plan is to take the 8:00 am boat to Scorpion and the 4:30 home. I have posted a picture of my reservation to assure you get the correct tickets.\\n\\n\\n\\nSince this is a St. Patrick's day hike you will want to wear something green or be prepared to suffer the consequences.\\n\\n\\n\\nIn the past some of the group have stopped at Andreas for some dinner before heading home. I am not a professional guide and am only sharing my plans for the day. Should you choose to follow me you are on your own and responsible for your own safety as well as catching the ferries.
