DESCRIPTION:Today we'll be hiking to the Jim Morrison Cave. The Doors’ Jim Morrison frequented the cave to find solace from the everyday rock star life he lived out on Sunset Strip. A few of his lyrics can be found in the cave\, the inside of which has also been completely painted over and sculpted by others.\\n\\n\\n\\nThis skull is said to be carved by him\\n\\n\\n\\nhttp://photos2.meetupstatic.com/photos/event/8/0/2/2/600_341732802.jpeg\\n\\n\\n\\nWe'll get there by way of one of the best segments of the Backbone Trail. Some great rock climbing will be available for those so inclined\, but optional. Total ascent will be about 2000 feet - net gain is about 1400 feet\\n\\n\\n\\nAt the finish of the hike we'll all yell: This is the end\\n\\n\\n\\nDirections:\\n\\n\\n\\nFree but limited parking on the southeast corner of Piuma Rd and Malibu Canyon/Las Virgenes. There is pay parking across the street and south. Bring $12.00 exact change\\n\\n\\n\\nIf you do end up in the pay lot STAY THERE -- That is where the trailhead is. Those of us in the free lot will be walking your way.
