DESCRIPTION:Today we'll be hiking to the Jim Morrison Cave. The Doors’ Jim Morrison frequented the cave to find solace from the everyday rock star life he lived out on Sunset Strip. A few of his lyrics can be found in the cave\, the inside of which has also been completely painted over and sculpted by others.\\n\\n\\n\\nThere will also be a Bonus Hike. This is what I refer to as the "Fake Mesa Peak" since so many hiking groups believe this peak to be Mesa Peak. But those who Hike with Dean to the real Mesa Peak know better.\\n\\n\\n\\nDepending on group and time we'll hike to Corral Canyon and play among the sandstone spires and fanciful outcroppings.\\n\\n\\n\\nHike will be a strenuous 8 miles out and back with some meandering. Some great rock climbing will be available for those so inclined\, but optional. Total ascent will be about 2000 feet - net gain is about 1400 feet\\n\\n\\n\\nAt the finish of the hike we'll all yell: This is the end\\n\\n\\n\\nDirections:\\n\\n\\n\\nFree but limited parking on the southeast corner of Piuma Rd and Malibu Canyon/Las Virgenes. There is pay parking across the street and south.\\n\\n\\n\\nIf you do end up in the pay lot STAY THERE -- That is where the trailhead is.
