DESCRIPTION:This is informational only. This is not a Group event Oaxacan wood carvings\, Mata Ortiz pottery and Zapotec rugs will be among the featured artworks in the Memorial Weekend Art Show &amp\; Sale at the Santa Monica Mountains Visitor Center. The traveling event will take place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday\, May 25 through Monday\, May 27.\\n\\n\\n\\n“Watching these artists at work is an amazing and magical experience\,” said Sophia Wong\, national park store manager .\\n\\n\\n\\nThe following information is a National Park Service press release.\\nAttendees can meet premier Oaxacan wood carver Jacobo Angeles and master Mata Ortiz potter Jorge Quintana. Wood carving demonstrations will be held daily at 12\, 1 and 3 p.m.. Pottery demonstrations will also be held daily at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.\\n\\n\\n\\nThe art show and sale is co-sponsored by the Western National Parks Association\, which operates a national park store at the visitor center.\\n\\n\\n\\nProceeds support education\, outreach and research initiatives for the Santa Monica Mountains.
