The year-round stream provides ample water to support this 550-acre park's numerous plant communities and a diverse wildlife population.There is a 30 ft water fall and some ruins that are fun to explore. We will hike the Rising Sun Trail to the Roberts House ruins and the waterfall where we can explore and have a snack. We'll return via the main Solstice Canyon Trail making a nice loop\\n\\n\\n\\nPhoto courtesy of John Guy Mammoser\\n\\n\\n\\nBut before we begin our trek into Solstice Canyon\, we'll go visit another waterfall in Dry Canyon. This trail leads up an oak-filled canyon to an overlook of a seasonal\, free-falling waterfall. After a rain\, when the fall is active\, the long\, slender\, multi-tiered waterfall drops 200 feet off the hillside cliff.\\n\\n\\n\\nHike Stats\\n\\n\\n\\nThe total hike will be about 4 - 4.5 miles. Beginners OK\\nDry Canyon - Easy 1.2 miles/200ft gain\\nSolstice Canyon loop: Easy-Moderate 3 miles/700ft gain\\n\\n\\n\\nPost hike brunch will be at Coogies Beach Cafe (http://www.coogiescafe.com/) in Malibu Colony Plaza on the corner of PCH and Webb Way.\\n\\n\\n\\nBring one quart water\, sunscreen\, hat\, snacks. Sturdy tennis shoes OK.\\n\\n\\n\\nEvent rules:\\n\\n\\n\\n\\n\\n	Carpooling is desireable\\n\\n\\n	All hikers must stay on established trails\\n\\n\\n	No use of flour or chalk to mark trails.\\n\\n\\n	Practice "Leave No Trace" – take only pictures and leave only footprints\\n\\n\\n\\n\\n\\nDirections: From PCH\, turn inland on Corral Canyon Rd. and proceed north for about 0.2 mile until you arrive at the entrance to the Solstice Canyon Park. Proceed along Solstice Canyon Rd for about 0.5 mile until you arrive at the second parking area.
