DESCRIPTION:http://photos2.meetupstatic.com/photos/event/b/5/3/2/event_1486386.jpeg\\n\\n\\n\\nEagle Rock\, the most impressive landmark in all of Topanga State Park\, will afford us an airy perch overlooking the upper watershed of Santa Ynez Canyon and the ocean beyond. We will snack and explore on this impressive sandstone rock covered with crevices and caves as we watch the sun set.\\n\\n\\n\\nOur trip to the rock will traverse some seldom used trails through tall chaparral or oak forest\, so it is very shady. The rest is meadow. We'll be going a different route than most of you veterans have used so be prepared for some pleasant surprises. Our return trip will be on fireroad\; darkness won't be a problem.\\n\\n\\n\\nhttp://photos1.meetupstatic.com/photos/event/5/9/1/c/event_140782812.jpeg\\n\\n\\n\\nBring camera\, plenty of water and snacks\\n\\n\\n\\nHike is about 6 miles with moderate elevation gain\\n\\n\\n\\nDirections\\n\\n\\n\\nFrom Topanga Canyon Boulevard\, turn east on Entrada Road\; that's to the left if you are coming from the San Fernando Valley. Follow Entrada Road by turning left at every opportunity until you arrive at Topanga State Park.\\n\\n\\n\\nPark on street before the last left turn or pay the iron ranger in the park ($15-20?)\\n\\n\\n\\nThe Organizers and members of Hiking With Dean are not professional leaders\, guides\, or mountaineers.
