DESCRIPTION:New Date\\n\\n\\n\\nThis hike will begin at San Vicente Mountain Park (the old NIKE missile base) with a southern descent down Westridge Fire Road straddling the ridgeline between Sullivan and Mandeville Canyons with spectacular city and ocean views.\\n\\n\\n\\nhttp://photos2.meetupstatic.com/photos/event/5/4/b/8/event_4281688.jpeg\\n\\n\\n\\nThen the hike loops north and goes up the forested canyon floor of Sullivan Canyon and climbs the chaparral covered slopes to Sullivan Ridge.\\n\\n\\n\\nhttp://photos2.meetupstatic.com/photos/event/d/1/e/3/event_24233731.jpeg\\n\\n\\n\\nThe hike up Sullivan Canyon parallels a seasonal creek through a shady canyon. Alive with the singing of birds\, this hike sounds and feels like an aviary housed within huge stands of sycamore\, oak\, and willow trees. Turn left on Ventura\, then right on Hayvenhurst...\\n\\n\\n\\nFrom 101 in East Valley\, exit at Hayvenhurst and head south past Ventura Bl...\\n\\n\\n\\nFrom 405 in North Valley\, take Ventura Fwy North/West\, exit at Hayvenhurst and head south past Ventura Bl...\\n\\n\\n\\n...Drive up Hayvenhurst for about a mile and turn right on Encino Hills Dr. At the top turn right on dirt Mullholland and through first yellow gate. Drive a little over a mile to Park entrance and park on side of road. There is additional parking in a turnout prior to reaching Park\\n\\n\\n\\nFrom 405 in L.A.\,exit Mulholland and head west on paved Mullholland for about 2.7 mles.
