DESCRIPTION:http://photos3.meetupstatic.com/photos/event/8/6/3/0/event_21094352.jpegCorral Canyon Park encompasses the last undeveloped coastal canyon in Los Angeles County that flows freely to the ocean. Our Hike will start out with the typical Corral Canyon hike climbing through pristine wilderness to the Puerco Canyon watershed divide\, providing spectacular ocean and mountain views.\\n\\n\\n\\nSoon after\, the exploratory segment of our hike begins. Topo maps show that there used to be a dirt road that connected the eastern ridge with the western ridge near Malibu Bowl by crossing the canyon floor. There is another one that goes up the canyon along the creek. I am able to see parts of the road bed from Puerco Motorway.\\n\\n\\n\\nAt least 1/2 of this hike will be exploratory. As such I cannot promise a specific distance or elevation gain. If we complete the proposed route\, think strenuous 10 miles with 2000 elevation gain\\n\\n\\n\\nLong pants\, good hiking boots and trekking pole recommended. We will probably have to do a little bush whacking and a lot of walking through scrub. The restaraunt allows you to bring your own beverages\, including wine and beer. Bring a cooler with your favorite beverage and leave it in the car. I'll bring some wine.\\n\\n\\n\\nDirections:\\n\\n\\n\\nThe Corral Canyon Trailhead is located on Pacific Coast Highway 1.8 miles west of Malibu Canyon Rd at Dan Blocker SB. The Trailhead is on the land side of Pacific Coast Highway adjacent to Malibu Seafood Fresh Fish Market and Patio Cafe where we will have lunch.\\n\\n\\n\\nParking in the Corral Canyon Park lot is $5.00. There is free parking on PCH
