DESCRIPTION:How to find us: In the parking lot of Trippet ranch by the bathrooms.\\n\\n\\n\\nDistance: 6 mile round-trip\\nElevation gain: 500 ft.\\nHike Type: Out and Back\\n\\n\\n\\nTIME 8:25 AM\\n\\n\\n\\nRSVP YES only (no need for NO's)\\n\\n\\n\\nThe first section of the trail out of Topanga State park\, meanders through a lovely oak grove with lush green grass. Above Trippet Ranch\, the trail traverses the ridge line between Topanga and Santa Ynez Canyons\, with views of giant sandstone slabs and the ocean peaking out between the folds of the mountains. This is not an easy hike but not terribly hard. There is uphill in both directions but a great view of the ocean when we reach the overlook where we will take a short rest. Wear layers as it might be cold to start. Bring sunscreen and plenty of water and a snack is a good idea too. Be sure to eat breakfast-never hike on an empty stomach!\\n\\n\\n\\nWE WILL LEAVE THE TRAIL HEAD PROMPTLY AT 8:30\\n\\n\\n\\nRAIN CANCELS so please check this site before leaving in the morning to check the status.\\n\\n\\n\\nDIRECTIONS:\\nFrom the Ventura Freeway (101)\, exit at Topanga Canyon Boulevard\, drive south over the crest of the mountains and proceed three miles to Entrada Road (not Entrado!) and turn left. Keep to the left at every opportunity until you reach the park's main parking lot (about one mile)\\n\\n\\n\\nFrom Pacific Coast Highway\, travel north on Topanga Canyon Boulevard\, pass the post office at the center of "town\," then turn right on Entrada Road. Keep to the left at every opportunity until you reach the park's main parking lot (about one mile).\\n\\n\\n\\nParking is $10.00 (exact change) in Park. There is some street parking (free) outside of the park on the road but is is limited so carpooling would be a good idea.
