DESCRIPTION:Come join me on a pleasant evening hike.\\nWe will start at 6pm instead of 5:30pm. Its still a little warm so I chose something with options in case we want to turn back.\\nPlease come prepared with a light and possibly poles if you need them. First we hike to the scenic cross area. We won't stop for long at that spot but long enough to enjoy the view. Then we will keep going on to the Reagan library to get a little more in.\\nOur route:\\nFrom the parking lot behind the Clinica’s medical building\, we will cross over Madera and walk a short distance through the neighborhood to the trailhead. We will hike a series of switchbacks for about 1.5 miles to the cross at the top. This is a steady climb across the face of the hill\, always in full view of the neighborhood below\, and of Simi Valley. At the top are panoramic views of Simi Valley\, Moorpark\, the Simi Hills\, Santa Susana and Santa Monica Mountains\, and the Reagan Library close by.\\nWe won't sit for too long at the top but keep going over to the gate of the Reagan Library.\\n\\n\\n\\nHike Time: 6:00 pm. Note a little later than our usual 5:30pm\\nSunset: 7:09 pm bring a light or charged phone to be safe.\\nWhere to meet: the parking lot behind the Clinica’s medical building on the corner of Royal and Madera.\\nDistance: about 3 miles but longer if we go to Reagan Library.\\nRoute type: Out &amp\; Back\\nElevation gain: 700 ft\\nDifficulty: Fit beginner/ please do not expect to stop for too long\, we only will stop briefly at the cross to take in the view and then we will go over to the library.
