About This Event

Devils Canyon with its spectacular rock formations created 80 million years ago in a marine environment makes for a haunting yet beautiful hike. Live Oak and Willow trees fill the canyon and sandstone geology of the wildest kind is found.

We will hike up shady Devils Canyon toward Rocky Peak Rd and head back down the way we came. There are many shallow stream crossings along the way, but I don't expect much water. This is a moderate 8 mile hike with a gradual net elevation gain is about 900 ft

Directions:

Take the 101 or 118 to Topanga Canyon Blvd. Head north to the end of street and make a left on Poema Place for about 50-100 yards and park on street. From West LA take the 405 North to the 118 West. Hike starts at the first driveway on right.

Bring 2 qts water, snacks, hat, sunscreen.
