About This Event
Ride the LA River from Downtown Los Angeles. This follows the renovated LA River Bike Path that shields cyclists from vehicular traffic but exposes the beauty and wildlife of the restored Los Angeles River. This is a recreational paced 12-14 mph, no drop ride.
The ride leaves from Los Angeles State Historical Park, enters the LA River Bike Trail, ends at the Zoo / Griffith Park and returns back on the Bike Trail to Downtown. This route is similar to the Los Angeles Firecracker 20 mile ride and you can pre-ride it now.
This is a self supported ride. You need to carry sufficient drinks and snacks for the entire ride. Make sure your bike is in good working condition. In the event of a serious mechanical breakdown be prepared to phone a friend or Uber.
Please familiarize yourself with the route as there will not be any directional signage on the course. Download the cue sheet, map, navigational files to your GPS, ridewithgps app or whatever devices and/or method that you are comfortable with. https://ridewithgps.com/routes/38436983 The interactive map also shows locations for restrooms and drinking fountains.
Helmets are mandatory and bring a spare innertube in case of flats.
We will roll promptly at 8:30 am. Please arrive early to find parking, use the restroom and ride briefing.
