About This Event
Your choice of 2 group rides starting from Downtown Los Angeles. This event features a fun 20 mile ride and a more challenging 42 miles ride based on the LA Firecracker Bike Routes.
20 Mile Easy Out & Back to Griffith Park along the LA River Bike Path - 90% on Bike Path https://ridewithgps.com/routes/38214282
42 Mile ride through the LA River, Glendale, Eagle Rock, Pasadena, Altadena, San Marino, South Pasadena, El Sereno and Lincoln Heights. This is a mix of bike path, bike lanes and urban streets. You are going to see a huge spectrum of neighborhoods from campsites to multimillion dollar mansions. We expect to have a large number of cyclist with a wide range of fitness levels for this event and you can join with the group where you feel most comfortable or ride at your own pace.
Ride Info
This is a self supported ride but there will be other cyclists to assist you along the route. You need to carry sufficient drinks and snacks for the entire ride. Stop 1 & 3 have drinking fountains and restrooms. Make sure your bike is in good working condition; in the event of a serious mechanical breakdown be prepared to phone a friend or Uber. Helmets are mandatory and bring a spare innertube in case of flats.
There is no SAG or Rest Stop support.
This ride was originally organized for Bike Marshals who are interesting in assisting other cyclists during the 2022 L.A. Firecracker Bike Ride. If you just want to ride with a group of helpful and friendly cyclists come tag along with the Bike Marshals and enjoy 2022 Firecracker Bike courses.

Ride Time
The duration of the ride will vary depending on the route selected (20 or 42 miles). The 20 mile will take about 2 hours. Allow 4-5 hours for the 42 miles. Faster riders and those bypassing rest stops will finished a lot sooner.
Meet at 7:45 am and we will roll at 8:15 am. You are not required to start at 8:15 and can ride at your own pace / time.
Parking: Free Parking along N Spring St and adjacent side streets - Some sections have 2 hour limit (check signs). Paid parking inside the State Park.
Direct access via Metro Gold Line Chinatown Train Station or just ride to the start location.
Rest Stops / Restrooms
Restrooms inside the Los Angeles State Park (Opens at 8:00 am). Porta Potties in Griffith Park and Restrooms at Victory Park (Rest Stop 3)
The unsupported rest stops are Pecan Grove in Griffith Park, Firefighters First Credit Union (Just a parking lot) and Victory Park in Pasadena. These locations will allow riders to regroup, take a snack break and refill water where available.
Ebike? - OK if Class 1 or 3
