About This Event

This is a classic urban Los Angeles Wheelmen ride. Starting in Culver City we head downtown and pass by LA Live, Crypto Arena and LA's newest attraction Graffiti Towers.

You ride along Broadway and can see all the old theaters that line that street. Some of them are still being used as theaters of one kind or another and one has been beautifully restored as an Apple Store.

Then it’s on to Alhambra, El Monte and Montebello. Don’t be scared off by the urban riding. You will be surprised how nice and interesting these routes can be.

There may be other riders attending and will ride the full century route or metric century. You are welcome to ride the longer routes.

This half century+ route will be an easy (12 mph) pace and we will do our best to keep it a no drop ride. If you find the pace too slow, you can drop us and finish the ride at a faster pace. We will also make a few stops to take photos.

Requirements: Helmets are mandatory. Make sure your bike is in good operating condition and bring at least one spare inner tube/sealant. You must be comfortable riding 40+ miles and have completed a ride of comparable distance recently. This is not a beginner's ride.

This is a self supported ride – there is no SAG. In case of a major mechanical and/or physical breakdown, plan on calling an Uber or phone a friend.

Bring sufficient liquids/hydration and snacks/energy bar/gels… etc for the ride length and temperature.

Ebike? - OK if it is Class 1 or 3 and you keep a pace consistent with the group. Be mindful of your range. Make sure you have sufficient battery range an/or plan to use a moderate amount of pedal power. We had many ebikers complete this distance on a single charge.

XC, MTB, Gravel? This is a longer distance ride and we are open and inclusive to whatever form of two wheel transportation you desire. The bike must be in good working condition and you need to be fit enough stay with the group.

Parking: Free Parking along adjacent side streets. Check parking signs around park – if you drive, you may need to park a block away

Restrooms are available at the start/meeting location Carlson Park, Culver City

Weather Forecast (It should be a nice day for riding)
