About This Event

Watching the Rose Parade live is one of those must do in your lifetime events. If you have a bike, this ride will provide you with the magic carpet that puts you next to all of the floats before they head down Colorado Blvd. Take a selfie with any float that strikes your fancy. Even the thousands of other people watching the parade in person along the route can’t do that.

Riding to the parade by bike is the best way to get there. No battling the traffic either before or after the parade. We meet along Palm Ave at Alhambra Park next to the restrooms where there is plenty of free parking. Plan to arrive early to use the restroom and set up your bike. We roll ON TIME at 7:00 am.

From Alhambra we have a gently up hill ride to Orange Grove Ave where the floats line up and you can preview them before the rest of the world see them on TV.

We have 15-20 minutes to view the floats at your own pace and regroup to ride to our viewing location along Colorado Blvd where there is space to park you bike, use the restroom and even grab something to eat. After watching the entire parade go by, we head back to Alhambra via a scenic ride through Pasadena, South Pasadena and San Marino.

The typical Rose Parade day forecast has a lots of sun, an early morning low around 38˚ and a high of 60˚. For current info: https://www.accuweather.com/en/us/pasadena/91101/daily-weather-forecast/337195 https://www.timeanddate.com/weather/usa/pasadena-ca/ext

This a leisurely slow-mid pace ride (no-drop). If you wander off and lose track of time and the rest us, the regrouping locations will be at:

Make sure your bike is in good working condition; in the event of a serious mechanical breakdown be prepared to phone a friend or Uber. Helmets are mandatory and bring a spare innertube in case of flats.
