This hike is so nice we are going to do it twice - first clockwise, then counterclockwise. But, each way won't be exaclty the same. Our hike will begin at sea level in Corral Canyon, the last undeveloped coastal canyon in Los Angeles County that flows freely to the ocean. Our hike starts with a drop into a shaded creek bed and a hop over Corral Canyon Creek. Maybe there will be water in the creek this time!

We turn north and follow the creek bed for a bit

As we start climbing the switchbacks Corral Canyon will open up before us

After about 500 feet of elevation gain we'll turn south and take a short detour for an ocean vista and a group photo. We then continue south with a gentle descent and get some increasingly breathtaking views of the coastline

After we close the loop we'll turn around and go the other way. But it won't be exactly the same! We'll add a tad more distance and elevation gain. Join us to see my way back
Hike will be a little over 5.2 miles (2.5+ each way) miles with about 1,200' total ascent (550+ each way). Fit beginners are ok -- even if its for just one loop.
After the hike we'll have lunch next door at Malibu Seafood Patio. Kitchen opens at 11:00 AM. Maybe we'll spot some dolphins frolicking in the waves...or some celebrities.

They let you bring your own beverages including booze. So pack a cooler with your favorite beverage and enjoy a fresh seafood lunch by the trailhead -- you will deserve it! I'll bring some white wine.
Bring sunscreen sturdy shoes a quart of water and a snack. Clothing optional.
There is street parking on PCH, $5.00 exact change in lot next to restaurant at the iron ranger.
