This is a fit beginner to moderate 4.3-mile hike with about a 300′ gradual elevation gain and no steep terrain. Park in the dirt parking lot and meet me at the Hill Canyon Bridge at 6:30. We’ll wait about 5 minutes for late comers like me sometimes.

The Hike
My hikes are slow paced (1.5-2 mph) and the end time is approximate only. We take breaks, we explore, and we don’t leave anyone behind. If this hike isn’t for you, please find another that best suits your needs.

Expect a little something different on this hike. At one point along the creek, instead of going straight on, we will take the horse trail detour. We’ll walk through a cluster of beautiful oak trees, take a different route going back, then to another trail that loops to the dirt parking lot. As always, there are ups and downs, but no steep areas.

• Dress accordingly and be prepared for cooler weather.

Driving Directions
From Moorpark Road in the Santa Rosa Valley, drive west on Santa Rosa Road for about 3.7 miles, turn left (south) on Hill Canyon Road and continue for 1/2 mile to the dirt parking lot to the left across from the bridge.

From the 101 Freeway in Camarillo, take exit 52 onto Santa Rosa Road and drive northeast. After about 5 miles, turn right onto Hill Canyon Rd. and continue for 1/2 mile to the dirt parking lot to the left across from the bridge.
