DESCRIPTION:The Lake Eleanor Open Space encompasses a 250-300 foot-high ridge between Lake Eleanor\nand the Las Virgenes Reservoir. As such\, there is a great view all along the trail\, and many\nplaces have views in all directions. Side trails go straight up the ridge to local hilltops where the\nviews are even better\, as is the opportunity for more exercise! There are three access points\nfrom neighborhood streets; the main one is on Highgate Road and directions to it are listed\nbelow. \nKey Statistics\nPopularity: Not crowded but popular with people who live nearby\nParking: Free on the street at trailheads\nDistance: 2.6 miles\, out and back from the Highgate Road trailhead.\nCumulative Climbing and Descent: about 450’ each.\nTread Surface: Singletrack trail. Many sections have loose rocks on the surface.\nHazards: No shade.\nFacilities: None.\nConnections: None to other open space areas.\nDriving Directions: From the 101 Freeway in Thousand Oaks\, exit at Westlake Blvd. and turn\nsouth. Drive 1 mile and turn left onto Triunfo Canyon Rd. Continue 0.6 miles then turn right\nonto Highgate Road.
