SUMMARY:Oak Creek Canyon to Robles West In/Out ~ Gentler Intermediate
DESCRIPTION:Oak Creek Canyon Trail is a rather special trail in Los Robles Open Space that is designed for the blind as well as the sighted. The all-access trail is shaded by a canopy of oaks\, while the loop trail spends more time in the chaparral.\nWe will start at Oak Creek Canyon and proceed to a connector trail a short distance until we meet a junction with Los Robles Trail West (AKA “Space Mountain”). “Space Mountain” gets its name from the switchbacks. You’ll travel through a couple of very nice oak groves\, and get some great views throughout in the Robles Open Space. Then\, we will turn around right before a steep downhill section with sharp switchbacks (prior to where the trail crosses a private road) and head back to our cars. \nThis hike will be about 5-6 miles In/Out with approximately 1000’ elevation gain/loss. \nDirection: From the 101 freeway\, drive to the south end of Moorpark Rd\, turn right on Greenmeadow Ave.\, and go a half mile to the parking lot. \nPLEASE READ BELOW IN ITS ENTIRETY
