SUMMARY:Oakbrook Vista Trail and Sandstone Ridge Road
DESCRIPTION:Come join me on Wednesday\, October 29 for an intermediate evening hike! After this week with the clock change I go into hosting hibernation on Wednesdays but be on the lookout for weekend hikes!\nWe will hike to the crest of the ridge to get a good workout and also some beautiful views. Beginners may have a difficult time due to the steepness\, so do not say I did not warn you if you choose to attend! We will only stop briefly to catch our breath and then take a short break at the turnaround point.\nYou can hike at your own pace just do not expect us to wait for you or to catch up to you if you are faster. There are some turn offs that I would advise turning around at so you do not get lost (especially in the dark) if you are unfamiliar with the trail. \nThere should still be some beautiful green hills and wildflowers on this hike! \nDistance: 5+ miles (depending on how far group decides to go)\nElevation Gain: 1300 ft gain\nDifficulty: Intermediate due to pace and steepness\, please no beginners\nDogs: No\nRestrooms:No\nWater Fountain: No\nParking: Free on the street\nTrail: Out and back no sweep\nSunset: 6:04pm bring a headlamp or flashlight to be safe\nWeather: Hike is cancelled if extreme heat (85 or above)\, Windy conditions (15mph or more) or rain at the time of the hike. \nEvent will cancel if by morning of event less than 2 signed up besides the leader. \nKnown Dangers: Rattlesnakes can be in the area and also poison oak\, please watch what you brush up against.\nThere is always a chance you can slip and fall so please wear proper shoes or use poles if you prefer. \nBring: Flashlight/headlamp and a snack if you get hungry at the top. \nLOTS of H20: 2 liters is the common amount to bring and it is good to have more than you need so you do not run out \nDISCLAIMER / RELEASE OF LIABILITY:\n• You must RSVP to attend this event\, no exceptions.\n• If you choose to sign up for any event\, you are releasing the organizers of PM Hikers from all liability in case of possible injuries.\n• The organizers of PM Hikers are not trained leaders and we do not confirm the qualifications of any of its members to lead or participate in trips.
