SUMMARY:Sycamore Canyon Hike from the Ocean - a Gentler Hike
DESCRIPTION:HIKE DETAILS:\nIt will be hot on Thursday\, so we’ll stay near the ocean. This will be an easier intermediate hike\, with less elevation gain\, less miles\, and slower. \nThis hike will go from the beach up to the picnic table on the fire road\, approximately 5.5 miles. Most of the hike is exposed\, so cover up and bring plenty of water. No dogs. \nWe will meet in the Day Use parking lot at Sycamore Canyon Campground\, passes will work. We will start off along the main Sycamore Canyon road and turn up to the fire road where we will climb up to the picnic table. We will then follow the fire road back down to the parking lot\, so out and back. \nDirections: \nWe will be meeting at the Sycamore Canyon Campground and day use parking area on Pacific Coast Hwy. This trailhead and parking area is about a mile south from the La Jolla Canyon Parking area where we go to hike the Ray Miller Trail and just across from the campground. \nState permit parking passes should work\, also parking is available in the campground for $12.
