About This Event

This is a relatively easy to moderate 4+ mile loop hike with a 550’ elevation gain. Meet me at 6:00pm at the trailhead, we will wait five minutes then start.

Directions:

Driving Directions:

  • From the 101, take the Moorpark Road exit and go south. Turn left onto Los Padres Drive.
  • The Los Padres Trailhead is on the right, close to the corner of Moorpark Road and Los Padres Dr.

The hike starts with a short walk through a forest of oak trees that canopy the trail with wooden bridges and a babbling creek. The forest fades into a canyon of lush vegetation and a single trail that ascends to the Los Robles Trail junction, this is the toughest part of the hike with a steady incline of about 250 feet.

At the junction the trail opens into a fire road, we'll take a right and continue to climb with an elevation of another 150 feet or so that will level out near the top. We will then turn right and head to the benches at the top. We will take a short break and enjoy breathtaking views of Conejo valley.

On the way down, we will then descend through the canyon and into a lush trail through a second forest of oak trees that ends at Greenmeadow Ave. From here, we will walk on the sidewalk to the trailhead where we started.
