Lone Pine Four Day Vacation
I’m planning a 4-day trip to Lone Pine April 9-12 (Thursday-Sunday), I hope you can join me.
You will be placed on a wait list. I will move you to going when you correctly answer the question that I have asked. The attendee limit is 20. Let me know if you want to bring a guest.
On Thursday, April 9, meet me at the Eastern Sierra Visitor Center, just outside of town, at 12:00pm. We can view the exhibits, have a picturesque view of Mount Whitney, use the restroom and just relax for a bit before heading to lunch at The Grill on Main Street.

Below is my agenda, but in no particular order:
- Manzanar: Visitor Center, the barracks, cemetery, gardens, and grounds
- Whitney Portal with a possible hike to the Lone Pine lake. I can’t guarantee I will be able to do this hike due to the high elevation, but others can hike it if they choose
- Alabama Hills: Drive the Movie Road and see the sites that movies were filmed,
- Drive through dirt roads to view interesting rock formations
- Hike the Alabama Hills trails
- Alabama-Mohawk Mine
- Museum of Western Film
- Bristlecone Pine Forest
- Headwaters of the Los Angeles Aqueduct
In early April, I will email those going with a complete agenda of the activities.
You will need to arrange your own accommodations through Airbnb or hotels. If you are listed as going, but then you can’t, please remove your name from the Going list.
Of course, bring all of your essential hiking gear which I will include in the email I send.
