The Corral Canyon Loop from the Sara Wan Trailhead is one of Malibu’s coastal treasures—a short but rewarding hike that perfectly blends ocean views, rolling hills, and wild beauty. The trailhead sits just off Pacific Coast Highway, directly across from Malibu Seafood (25653 PCH), with parking available at the lot. From here, you can hike the 2.5-mile loop in either direction, but most hikers prefer going counterclockwise. This route offers a gentler climb at the start and saves the stunning ocean panoramas for the descent—so you finish the hike with Malibu’s sparkling coastline right in front of you.
Along the way, you’ll wander through coastal sage scrub, chaparral, and shady pockets of oak and sycamore. In spring, the slopes burst with wildflowers like lupine and California poppies, and the air is filled with the scent of sage. Keep your eyes peeled for red-tailed hawks, quail, lizards, and maybe even a deer or bobcat in the early morning light. It’s a trail that feels both wild and welcoming—a place where ocean air and mountain energy meet to lift your spirit with every step.
